Iatropolis Medical Group offers testing for the presence of specific IgG antibodies against the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The test is performed on a state-of-the-art analyzer from ABBOTT, a company that has a long tradition in the development of tests for the determination of antibodies against important infectious agents, while it has already received emergency approval (EUA) from the American F.D.A as well as CE mark from the European Union.

Testing for the presence of specific IgG antibodies against the COVID-19 coronavirus in combination with the patient's history will show us if the examinee has been in contact with the virus. It is noted that the antibodies are more elevated if the patient had symptoms, while they are at a low titer if the infection with the virus remained without symptoms. It also appears that antibodies increase after 14-21 days from the onset of symptoms.

Antibody tests help scientists understand how long antibodies stay in the body and whether they provide immunity. It also helps in the formulation of health policies by communicating parameters for the spread of the virus.
